Before Buying Property In Datchet

Datchet is a small village only 5 minutes’ drive out of Windsor central and 50 minutes train journey to Waterloo, London. With its pretty surroundings which include the Thames River and Datchet Green it is the perfect village for young families or retiring couples. It is a quiet but friendly village with a very healthy community spirit. The council are always keen to encourage locals and businesses to get involved in any events occurring throughout the year. Oakood Estates are also very keen to be involved and happily sponsor any events which Datchet may have.
Despite the modern developments in the village, Datchet still manages to retain many features of the quiet riverside settlement it once was. The Datchet Green has many small cafes and restaurants clustered around its central oak tree commemorating Queen Victoria’s Jubliee along with other shops such as the local pharmacy and Oakwood Estates Datchet office which are all in close walking distance of one another. There are many schools in the area such as St Marys Church of England Primary School and Churchmead School. Datchet is close the M4 making any journeys via car to London less than 30 minutes.
